Veterans Transition Support combines programs to prepare Veterans, Active Duty Personnel and Reservists for an effective transition. These Veterans Transition Support sponsored programs include Veterans Career Management Workshops, LEAN Certification, Disability Claim Filing, Veteran Instructed OSHA Training Courses, No Cost Security Officer Training, Veterans Business Networking Mixers and Veterans On-Boarding Support.



No Cost LEAN Certification Course

The LEAN Continuous Improvement Certification breaks down traditionally complicated LEAN methods into a simple, straightforward approach that makes dramatic and measurable improvements to the bottom line by minimizing waste in processes. Learn how to apply the LEAN tools that companies want including: Value Stream Maps, A3 Problem Solving, Kaizen Group Improvement Events, and 5S. Live Instruction, Hands On Projects Done in Class, LEAN Continuous Improvement Certificate at the end of the training.

The Veterans Transition Support On-Boarding Support Program provides gas cards, bus passes, work clothes and tools to any unemployed veteran in Southern California who lands a job and needs assistance to sustain their new job until the first paycheck. OSHA 10 Hour Safety  live instruction provides an introduction to Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations that every business with employees must comply with. The OSHA 10 Hour Safety Card is a Federal credential that is recognized in all 50 states and does NOT expire. Salaries for Safety Supervisors start at $50,000 per year. Safety Managers start at $60,000 to $80,000 per year depending on the industry and size of the company. Veterans Transition Support sponsors weekend OSHA training events at military bases and American Legion Posts Veterans Transition Support has provided No Cost OSHA 10 Safety Training for over 2000 Active Duty Service Members, Spouses and Veterans since 2014.


Veterans Business Networking Mixers

Veterans Business Networking Mixers are an integral part of the Veterans Transition Support employment program and they conducted in partnership with the Orange County Veterans Employment Committee and the American Legion to provide networking opportunities for veterans, reservists and active duty personnel and match them with businesses that want to hire veterans.


Veterans Career Management Workshops

Veterans Transition Support sponsors and coordinates Veterans Career Management Workshops that are facilitated by VA GI Bill Work Study Interns who conduct the workshops in groups of 8-10 participants with a hands-on, step-by-step method that transfers military experience into civilian job skills that match employer's needs.
The Veterans Career Management Workshops are conducted at Veteran Resources Centers on college campuses, on military bases, at American Legion Halls, Veterans Resource Centers and at the Veterans Transition Support facility in a 3 session cycle comprised of:

  1. a written step-by-step Personal Inventory of personal preferences, personality profile, job criteria, skills assessment and experience;
  2. a Networking, Nonverbal Communication and Interviewing Skills Workshop with practical application exercises done in-class; and
  3. a Mock Video Interview to pull all the lessons together with documented practical application of the previous exercises. Participants are allowed to repeat the Mock Video Interview for additional practice.

Veterans, Reservists and Active Duty Military Personal who complete the Veterans Career Management Workshops are provided additional individualized Career Coaching, Job Development and Employment Placement Services to assist them in their job search and networking efforts.
