Veterans Career Management Workshops

Veterans Transition Support sponsors and coordinates Veterans Career Management Workshops that are facilitated by VA GI Bill Work Study Interns who conduct the workshops in groups of 8-10 participants with a hands-on,¬†step-by-step method that transfers military experience into civilian job skills that match employer’s needs.
The Veterans Career Management Workshops are conducted at Veteran Resources Centers on college campuses, on military bases, at American Legion Halls, Veterans Resource Centers and at the Veterans Transition Support facility in a 3 session cycle comprised of:

  1. a written step-by-step Personal Inventory of personal preferences, personality profile, job criteria, skills assessment and experience;
  2. a Networking, Nonverbal Communication and Interviewing Skills Workshop with practical application exercises done in-class; and
  3. a Mock Video Interview to pull all the lessons together with documented practical application of the previous exercises. Participants are allowed to repeat the Mock Video Interview for additional practice.

Veterans, Reservists and Active Duty Military Personal who complete the Veterans Career Management Workshops are provided additional individualized Career Coaching, Job Development and Employment Placement Services to assist them in their job search and networking efforts.
